**German Observation Balloon** This aircraft requires the latest FS-WWI Plane Pack to function correctly. Credits for this aircraft go to the following: 3d Model: RVW, Pete Hawk, ArgonV Texture: RVW OpenPlaneStudio Code: Pete Hawk Missions: ArgonV GUI: ArgonV Updated by: ArgonV Old History and past notes/revisions: German Obersvation Balloons by Pete Hawk pthawk@castles.com Included you'll find two WWI German Observation Balloons. The ObsG one is a flyable aircraft. There really is no cockpit since you are sitting in a basket. The other one, the ObsballoonG is a placeable MOVING ground object. This is the first one to be released by me so far and really is the first of it's kind in SDOE. This release is the first in a string of many moving object releases to come. How the movement is setup in this particular case is this. Place the balloon in a mission. Upon mission startup the balloon will pitch and roll over the ground for about 20 seconds before rising to 3000 ft. Here it will stay for 5 minutes (300 seconds), after which it'll take a 2 1/2 minute descent to park and no longer fly. So you could setup a mission where you have x number of minutes to get to it and blast it while it's airborn, otherwise you won't be able to kill it (I actually could have it disappear at the end of it's descent, then you really couldn't kill it) :) If you know your way around Bryan Russells OpenPlane Studio (OPS) program, you can mess with the DOF's (Degree of Freedom) in the model and experiment with different DOF angles and timings. You can get to that program from here http://www.fightersquadron.com and be sure to visit the forum for many exciting updates and discussions. Installation... extract the zip file to your main SDOE directory and all the files will be put in their proper places. The model uses the Q key which is a canopy toggle. This line MUST be in your keyboard.inp file otherwise the balloon won't work. cmdCanopyToggle = Q That's all for now. Enjoy! Pete Hawk **Update** -FM tweaked by ArgonV ("Flies" more like a gas bag instead of a B-17) -SM file slightly cleaned up -Correct shadow added by RVW -Gun removed (Balloons dont have guns!) ;) -New 3d model by RVW **Update PP4** -New 3d basket model -New pilot
